AWARENESS TOUR

THE ROVER

Bring out the Big Guns

For missions like the Awareness Tour, founder of BackcountryCam.com, Dave Genchi packs everything but the kitchen sink. So what’s on his list? Genchi loads his Ford F350 Van with upwards of 10 surfboards (shortboards, tow boards, and big-wave guns), PWCs for his crew (complete with sleds, tow ropes, and life vests), enough gas cans to last for days, six wetsuits (plus booties, hoods, and gloves), anchors, ski wench, beach dollies, a GPS, and a Remote control Airplane with on board camera unit.

“The GPS is my number one thing, followed closely by the survival suit,” Genchi reasons. “There’s nothing worse than being lost and cold. Once you lose your hands and feet, there’s no coming back.” -Dave Genchi

Safety is one of the key ingredients to a tasty backcountry ride.
